MARTA

Take the North/South line to the Peachtree Center station. Follow the signs that direct you to Ellis Street and the Atlanta Public Library. Exit at Peachtree Street South. Walk south on Forsyth past the Library. The Rialto is about two blocks down on the right.

Parking

equitableSTUDENTS AND GUESTS ARE DIRECTED TO PARK IN THE EQUITABLE PARKING DECK.

Parking for this event is available for $4 per vehicle at the Equitable parking deck on the corner of Williams and Fairlie streets. Parking is also available at a variety of surface and street lots around the Rialto. Parking fees and hours at these lots vary.

Directions to the Equitable Parking Deck

The official parking deck of the Rialto is the Equitable Parking Deck, one block past the theatre, on Fairlie. Go past the Rialto on Luckie Street (Auburn Avenue), then take an immediate right as soon as you pass the Quality Hotel (onto Fairlie). Follow the signs that say “Official Rialto Parking” and turn right into the Equitable Parking Deck. (The deck is not clearly marked as Equitable, so look for the “Official Rialto Parking” signs and flags).

To access the Rialto after parking in the deck, take the elevator to the 3rd floor to exit onto Forsyth Street. Press the green button to the left of the double glass doors to release the locking mechanism and exit onto Forsyth Street. The Rialto will be on your right.

Additional Information

UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRADUATION AND COMMENCEMENT

Graduation is the awarding of degrees. Upon certification of satisfactory completion of all degree requirements, students’ degrees are awarded and added to their official academic records. The date of degree conferral is the official graduation date for that term and is the date that appears on students’ diplomas and transcripts. Official diplomas are mailed to students following degree conferral and after all financial obligations to the university have been cleared.

Commencement is a ceremonial exercise. Once students are eligible to graduate in a specific semester they may participate in commencement. Commencement gives the students the opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments by their families, friends and the university community. Participation in commencement, however, does not guarantee a student’s graduation and diplomas are not awarded at the ceremony.
