ABOUT
The Graduate Conference for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity offers a platform for graduate students from all disciplines to showcase their scholarly and creative endeavors. The conference provides an opportunity for graduate students to share their work through posters, oral presentations, films, artist talks, creative displays or musical performances.

Awards
All presentations are eligible for awards in different categories and will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Students will have the option to exclude their work from being considered for awards. Those who wish to be considered for the Sustainability awards will have the chance to indicate interest on the submission form.
Oral Presentations
First, second and third-place awards are given to the three highest-scoring oral presentations.
Poster Presentations
First, second and third-place awards are given to the three highest-scoring poster presentations.
Musical Performances
A "creative excellence" award is given to the highest-scoring musical performance.
Film Presentations and Artistic Talks
A "creative excellence" award is given to the highest-scoring film presentation and artistic talk.
Thematic Awards
GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT AWARD
The prize for global engagement recognizes graduate research that embraces a global or international perspective in any field or subject of study.
SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS
Sustainability awards recognize graduate student project submissions that address environmental challenges. From any academic discipline, these projects aim to critically examine and resolve environmental challenges, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding current and future generations of all species and ecological systems on Earth.
Potential project topics include, but are not limited to:
- Environmental justice
- Climate change
- Pollution
- Water quality and conservation
- Wilderness and wildlife protection, biodiversity
- Renewable energy
- Food, agriculture, and fishing (including GMOs)
- Environmental justice and human rights
- Sustainable design
- Waste reduction and recycling
- Consumer culture
- Human population stabilization
- Ocean life protection
- Corporate social responsibility, green business/marketing
- Natural resource conservation
- Environmental education
- Sustainable policies and legislation
- Religious or cultural perspectives on nature and animals
- Environmental advocacy and social change movements
