Online Teacher Support and Coaching Endorsement

When applying to the Teacher Support & Coaching (TSC) Endorsement, Non-Degree program, you will need to submit several documents for review.

• Online Application
• Goals Statement (upload with the application - indicate school name and grade level you teach)
• Resume (upload with the application)
• Letter of Recommendation
• Must have minimum three years of teaching experience
• Proof that you meet certification requirements in Georgia (upload teaching certificate to application); include GACE Content Assessment test scores
• Official Transcript(s): must provide proof of bachelors degree

The TSC Endorsement requires six (6) credit hours in Teacher Development (3) and Internship in Teacher Support (3).

COURSE GOALS

The TSCE is designed as a learning community in which the engagement of participants is optimized through opportunities to develop identities of the teacher as researcher, mentor, student-centered practitioner and professional learner. Therefore, the course strives to develop teachers who become:

• Knowledgeable teachers who can challenge their students’ thinking and constructing knowledge relative to early childhood, elementary and middle-level education.
• Social activists who challenge the systems that limit the access, opportunity and development of young children, adolescents, and their families.
• Active seekers of knowledge who remain current on theory and research and can critique, synthesize and implement these ideas in their practice.
• Thoughtful writers and speakers who disseminate ideas through publication, electronic media and other public venues.
• Leaders and collaborators who are motivated to serve academia, the community, and/or the profession.

Graduate students who enroll in and satisfy requirements for ECE 8400 and ECE 8680 will have earned a Teacher Support and Coaching (TSC) Endorsement. The requirements for the theoretical and empirical foundations of the endorsement are embedded in course assignments in ECE 8400. Complementary to ECE 8400, the field-based components which connect theory, research and practice are required during the internship experience in ECE 8680.
